MEET LORNA

Yoga Teacher, Mental Health Advocate and Atira Founder.

'“Anxiety and panic attacks first presented in my early years. It wasn't until these issues popped up again later in life, with no explanation, that I found yoga and meditation. After the first few yoga classes I noticed a huge shift in my perspective, mindset and emotional state and knew it was something I needed to keep up. I’ve been on a mission to share the benefits and peace I’ve found through yoga with others ever since, with accessibility being one of my core values. When I’m not teaching you can find me running along the sea front - one of my other stress busters!”

Lorna is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and believes everyone has the right to positive wellbeing. As well as teaching yoga to reduce stress and anxiety, Lorna delivers bespoke mental health and wellbeing training programmes to workplaces, empowering others to support their own wellbeing and that of their colleagues and communities.

GET TO KNOW OUR STYLE!

No matter how fit or flexible you are, how old or young, whether you are an athlete or more towards the inactive side – there is an offering that will suit you. Our classes vary from the stillness of meditative Yin to a gentle form of Hatha.

01

Yin Yoga

A slow, meditative practice where the focus is on holding postures for a longer period of time, usually floor based. This practice targets the connective tissue where we hold a lot of tension and emotions. This style of yoga hosts a range of physical and mental benefits and complements more dynamic, physical activity perfectly.

02

Hatha Yoga

A fairly gentle practice that's perfect for beginners. This style of yoga sees you alternate between standing and floor based postures, typically holding the postures for between 5-10 rounds of breath. This practice works on your flexibility, balance and above all the mind body connection.

03

Restorative Yoga

A slow practice which encourages physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels with a focus on long holds, stillness and deep breathing. This style of yoga enhances our healing capacity through helping regulate our stress response and re-balance the nervous system.
